We are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievement of four of our Music Star students — Iris, Cassiel, Orlando, and Cloris — who have been successfully accepted into the Special Music Programme (SMP) at Burnside High School!
The SMP at Burnside High School is widely recognized as one of the most competitive and prestigious secondary school music programmes in New Zealand. With a large number of applicants each year and a highly selective admission process, having four students admitted from the same school is a rare and outstanding accomplishment. We are truly proud of them!

Each of these students has shown unwavering dedication, hours of focused practice, and a genuine passion for music. Let us take a moment to celebrate their unique musical strengths:
- 🎻 Iris – A gentle soul with extraordinary musical sensitivity and excellent stage control. Her performances are always filled with emotional depth.
- 🎹 Cassiel – Quiet and diligent, he is one of the most consistent students in class. Though humble, his performances consistently leave strong impressions.
- 🎶 Orlando – A natural performer with a strong sense of rhythm and outstanding technical command. In addition to being accepted into SMP, he also received an academic scholarship from St. Andrew’s College — a dual recognition of his talents.
- 🎼 Cloris – Cheerful and emotionally perceptive, she brings great energy and cohesion to every ensemble rehearsal. Her leadership in group settings is truly inspiring.
At Music Star, we believe that music is not just about mastering technique — it is also a journey of character, discipline, and self-expression.
We walk alongside our students through every phase of their preparation:
from repertoire selection, technical training, and mock auditions,
to mental readiness and performance coaching.
This achievement reflects not only the students’ musical skills but also their resilience, determination, and willingness to grow. It is a proud moment for them — and for us.
